Installing the SmartAlt module

The module installation process is carried out through the built-in OpenCart extension installer, but it has an important feature — you must select the correct archive depending on your PHP version.

Step 1. Choosing the correct archive

In the downloaded folder with the module, you will find several installation archives (for example, ex_aap_oc3.0_php7.1.ocmod.zip, ex_aap_oc2.3_php_5.6.ocmod.zip and others).

Warning

It is very important to upload only the archive that strictly matches:

1. Your OpenCart version (2.3 or 3.0).
2. Your PHP version on the server (5.6, 7.1, 8.2, etc.).

If you do not know the PHP version on your hosting, contact your hosting provider's support team.

Step 2. Uploading to the system

1. Go to the administrative panel of your store.
2. In the left menu, select Extensions → Installer.
3. Click the Upload button and select the appropriate .ocmod.zip archive.
4. Wait for the green message indicating a successful upload.

Step 3. Updating modifications

1. Go to the Extensions → Modifications section.
2. Be sure to first click the Clear button (orange), and then Refresh (blue) in the upper right corner.

Step 4. Activating the module

1. Go to the Extensions → Extensions section and select the Modules filter type.
2. Find the SmartAlt module in the list and click the green Install button (plus icon).
3. After successful activation, click the Edit button (pencil icon) to go to the settings and enter the license key.
